Sometimes a recipe appeals not just to your tastebuds, but to your mouth in general. Mouthfeel is a huge component of enjoying your food—and have we got something to share with you.
Smooth. Creamy. It’s decadence in a bowl—and we can’t get this perfect-mouthfeel mousse, crafted by Layne Lieberman of Beyond The Mediterranean Diet, out of our heads.
This was the “go-to” snack for my children when they were young. They loved it! Need I say more? And yes, it tastes as rich as velvety French mousse.
- Prep Time : 10 min
- Cook Time : 60 min
- Yields: 4
- 1 banana, broken into chunks
- 12 ounce firm tofu, silken preferred
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons blackstrap molasses (optional)
- 5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 3 tablespoons almond milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a blender, combine banana, tofu, maple syrup, optional molasses, cocoa powder, almond milk and cinnamon. Cover and puree until smooth. Pour into individual serving dishes or one shallow bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
