Almond Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Whole food smoothies are the perfect nutrition boosters. They often provide extra protein, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Smoothies are especially convenient for kids, the elderly or sports enthusiasts who are in need of  a quick natural food fix. Try a smoothie for breakfast on the go, or as an afternoon pick-me-up. There are so many delicious combinations so get creative and bon appétit!

Ingredients (choose organic):

  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 banana, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 8 ounces plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup fat-free milk (or soy, almond or rice milk)
  • 1/4 cup dry roasted or raw almonds, unsalted
  • 1 handful of baby spinach (optional)
  1. Wash the strawberries and blueberries. Cut the tops off of five of the strawberries and set one strawberry aside for the garnish.
  2. Place all the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.  Serves 3.
